Awraq Alzahab Fima Kutib An Tarikh Halab
أوراق الذهب فيما كتب عن حلب
Aleppo is an Arab city par excellence for thousands of years.
The archive of Mari stated the name of Aleppo since the twentieth century BC, and the archives of the Acadians since the twenty-seventh century BC proved the right of Aleppo to the top of the list of the oldest inhabited city in history.
However, the continuity of inhabiting Aleppo did not allow archaeologists to probe its layers of land dating back to thousands of historical eras.
Just as Aleppo, through its bright and honorable history, was the focus of the invaders’ ambitions, it was also a gateway for history lovers of Arab historians, and orientalists alike.
The interested person rarely reads a historical book on the Arab East, the Near East, even North Africa, the medieval period, or the Crusades, and when a book was read, Aleppo would take a large area of the book’s pages.
This book is an attempt to introduce the local historical literature that specialized in talking about Aleppo or which included information related to the ancient and modern history of Aleppo, and Arab and foreign sources, references, and encyclopedias.
These books are either printed, published or in the form of manuscripts, or MA or PhD theses. In addition to refering to what is being accomplished and prepared, which includes historical, scientific, literary, artistic or urban information about Aleppo.
Some pages of this book were allotted to the most important historical terms, or those related to archeology, so that the book would be completely benefitial.
