Often some words and expressions are problematic for students and researchers, and it is difficult for them to make a choice, and to indicate the most likely of the most correct, and they find some meanings ambiguous, and they do not understand what is clear for specialists, so they refer to many dictionaries and references, and some of them may not succeed.
Sometimes, some of them would not know their order, and do not reach their objective, which may cause them to be scatterbrained in correction.
Therefore, I sought to prevent this by making a modest lexicon of what is necessary and common of common mistakes, of the imortant words, that helps the researcher to know the correct ones.
And I was keen in that to be brief and to limit myself to the important, popular and famous words, and to stay away from everything that is rare and not needed by writers.
The words were arranged according to the first letter, in alphabetical order.
I referred to the most important references of wrong and right in printed books and manuscripts.
I created a table to state notes, clarify the ambiguous, explain problems, determine the correct and most correct of these words and phrases, and explain that when necessary.
I excluded the words that scientific centers do not need and deem not important, or those not frequently used in society or daily discourse.
I was satisfied with verifying the words according to the arrangement of modern dictionaries in order to facilitate referring to them.
If one of the linguistic dictionaries gives two names to one thing, I choose what is familiar and easy over the other.
I did not use words that did not appear in the approved and trusted dictionaries, as well as modern generated words.
If two eloquent words come together, one of which is used by the common people and the other is neglected, then the one used by the common people is more likely.
I made clear that some of the words and expressions are incorrect, although they are commonly used and they have become famous in our Arab societies.
The development of such a lexicon reduces or prevents the use of wrong words and expressions, and it is a reference for researchers and a guide for institutions and scientific centers that use the Arabic language.
