The Greatest Scholar of Hadith, Sheikh Badr Al-Deen Al-Hasani

Sheikh Badr Al-Din is a great figure for his qualities and merits.

He reminds us of the predecessors of this nation’s working scholars.

His qualities and merits varied, and the aspects of his life were multiplied.

Therefore, it would take a long time and big folders to talk about him, and a special folder would be needed for each of his life aspects.

He is the ascetic worshiper who turned away from the whole world and its wealth.

He is a knowing righteous, an educator of hearts, who followed Sufism in behavior and attitude.

He is a social reformer, calling to God, the One with no partner.

He is the scientist of Hadith of al-Sham, the reviver of the Hadith lessons, and the source of the science of Hadith by narration and knowledge.

He is a teacher, an educator, and catalyst of the scientific renaissances which we enjoy their benefits today in the Levant.

In this work, we talk about an important aspect of this distinguished figure, which is the scientific renaissance of Sheikh Badr Al-Din Al-Hasani, and the effect of this renaissance on the nation through the books he read, the scholars wholearned from him, and the major scientific renaissances that were born through his students.

Among the most important features of this work are the following points: First, the biography of Sheikh Badr Al-Din Al-Lahsani, which was distinguished from its predecessor by the following:
a- meetings with a group of travellers in their books and their description of Sheikh Badr Al-Din, his lessons, and his scientific and social status.

Theses meetings were not previously collected and published in any previous biography of Sheikh Al-Hasani, may God have mercy on him.

b- a study of all the books that the Sheikh read in his public and private lessons in the Umayyad Mosque, Dar Al-Hadith and his house, with mentioning some of his students he read thses books.

c- Talking about the scientific renaissance that took place in Damascus, and which was the fruit of the instillation of Sheikh Badr Al-Din and his great scientific renaissance.

Second, the statistical study of what he left behind of students and authorized who were immortalized by books of biograohy, history, authorities, diaries and others.
